This committee is established in accordance with the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023, which mandate a mechanism for timely grievance resolution. In line with these regulations, the committee upholds fairness, confidentiality, and respect for student rights in all its proceedings.
Objectives:

- Resolve grievances effectively and at the earliest possible stage.

Scope of the Grievance Redressal Committee:
Student grievances are broadly categorized as per UGC guidelines into the following areas:
Admissions and Fees: Complaints about unfair admission processes, merit discrepancies, undisclosed or excessive fees, withheld certificates or documents.
Financial Aid and Scholarships: Delays or denials in scholarship and financial aid disbursement as promised by the institution.
Academic and Examination Issues: Irregularities or delays in exams/results, unfair evaluation practices, or denial of promised course instruction.

These categories align with the UGC (Grievances of Students) Regulations 2023, ensuring all relevant student concerns are covered.
College Grievance Committee:
The College-level Grievance Redressal Committee is responsible for:
- Considering and resolving grievances registered by students, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and confidentiality.
- Maintaining proper documentation of all grievances addressed.
- Submitting periodic reports on grievance redressal to the University authorities.
These measures ensure that each complaint is taken seriously and handled impartially at the earliest stage.
University Grievance Committee:
The University-level Student Grievance Redressal Committee shall:
- Handle grievances referred by the respective College Grievance Redressal Committees.
- Hear appeals from students regarding actions taken by the College Committee.
In unresolved or escalated cases, students can appeal to the university committee for an independent review, providing a final forum for redressal.
Procedure for Handling Student Grievances:
Reporting: A student submits a grievance via the official online portal or by writing to the College Committee. (UGC 2023 regulations require every institution to have an online grievance portal.)
Enquiry and Hearing: The College Committee conducts a fair enquiry, fixing a hearing date and inviting the student (or their representative) to present the case.
Resolution or Report: The committee deliberates and attempts to resolve the issue. It prepares a report detailing the findings and recommended action.
Referral of Unresolved Cases: If the grievance is not resolved at the college level, it may be escalated to the University’s Ombudsperson or University Grievance Committee for further action.
University-Level Proceedings: The University Ombudsperson or committee holds a hearing, gives all parties a chance to be heard, and issues a final decision with appropriate relief. The institution is required to comply with this decision.
Through these steps, the College ensures each complaint is tracked and handled efficiently.
