The Department of Surgery provides students with academic and clinical training in surgical subjects as prescribed in the BHMS curriculum. The department combines theoretical teaching with practical clinical exposure, enabling students to develop an understanding of common surgical conditions, their evaluation, and principles of management.

The department is supported by minor and major operation theatres (OTs) for observation of basic operative procedures relevant to the BHMS course. Students are encouraged to study and present cases of in-patients related to surgical conditions during regular clinical classes conducted three times a week.

Students gain experience in the systematic study of cases through observation, examination, analysis, investigation, and diagnosis in both Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) settings.
